Oh Beloved Vastness,
Caught between the anvil of our lives and the hammer of Your Presence our souls flattened like the soft coppery color on the oceans dawn.
Crashing into us with the gentle force of morning, we were sent reeling, staggering, seeking refuge in Silence Celebrating.
It was there we honed our intuition, hoping we would know where to encounter you next.
Full of prescient hopes and looking to receive the full impact of your being once again,
We, like the priest addicted to his altar, hurried to the sacred spot.
Intoxicated by the unknown sparkling in your void, rushing to touch your vastness,
we drowned in mental constructs filled with our own eagerness.
The first lung full of saltwater almost worked,
we had done it before, long, long ago curled in the Mothers Brine.
Time languishes at the periphery of love,
Time languishes at the periphery of death and we, oh we are so intoxicated by that unknown
Sparkling in your void, awakening all it envelopes.
Oh Beloved Vastness,
cradled in your arms we all laugh within,
for the first kiss, of the first love, of all lovers, just brushed these lips.
We rejoice in awe at how many lives have laughed by, how many cried away.
Old friends we meet, once again learning, teaching, loving, laughing
in these brief moments, we call years.
Again we rejoice, rejoice in that ancient coolness of wisdom holding our flowers of passion
burning so brightly in our hearts.
Burn on my beloved, Live on my dear one,
Die on my old friend, live to die, die to live
And laughing we shall meet again, and meeting we shall love again
And in loving we surrender, each of us a note in Your Universal Vastness of Love Igniting
Your Eternal Song
